More About Raspberry Picking at Kustermans

About OurRaspberry Patch

Our 2‑acre raspberry patch grows sun‑ripened berries in a quieter corner of the farm, offering a slower pace than the busy blueberry fields. Raspberry season usually runs through July, with availability shifting daily based on weather and ripening speed. Because the crop is smaller and more delicate than blueberries, picking days can fill quickly. Checking our crop status before visiting is always recommended.

What to Expect On Picking Day

Raspberries bruise easily, so a gentle pull is all it takes for ripe berries to release. Pint containers are included at no extra cost, and the tractor ride takes you directly to the patch. The final ride leaves thirty minutes before closing. Morning visits typically offer the best selection before the heat settles in. Staff are available to guide first‑time pickers and help ensure a smooth, enjoyable experience for all guests.

Combine withBlueberry Picking

Raspberry and blueberry picking season overlap in mid-July, making it an ideal time to visit both fields in one trip. The patches are separate but reached by the same tractor route, allowing families to pick each crop at their own pace. Fresh raspberries are best enjoyed within a day or two, while blueberries keep longer. Both freeze well for smoothies, sauces, and baking. Pre‑picked pints may be available at the market depending on crop levels.
